Hope With Lights Ministry is Changing Lives
Hope with Lights started with a simple truth I know from experience: every child deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and loved. I was adopted as a child, and the family who chose me gave me something I never take for granted — the feeling of belonging.
That feeling is what led me to volunteer with local foster families, and it’s where everything changed. We have watched children see their own name on a birthday cake for the first time in their lives. Pure joy and disbelief, over something so many of us never think twice about. Its moments like thes that sta with us — and it made us realize how much basic joy so many foster kids have simply never had the chance to experience.
We have always loved lighting up my home for Christmas, and with a background in networking and technology, building a synchronized light show came naturally. So we put those two things together: a passion for lights, and a mission to make sure no foster child wakes up on Christmas morning without a gift waiting for them.
Every year, Hope with Lights transforms the nights into a free, synchronized holiday light show for the whole community to enjoy — but the real work happens behind the scenes. With the cost of living higher than ever, foster families are doing everything they can just to provide a safe, stable home. We exist to take one worry off their plate: making sure there are toys under the tree, every single year, without fail.
We also partner with our local food pantry, which serves thousands of families every week — including many of the same foster families we support. Through a dedicated fundraising event, we help provide food alongside toys, because caring for a child means caring for their most basic needs first.
Hope with Lights is more than a light display. It’s a promise — to foster kids, to the families raising them, and to our community — that joy, generosity, and hope don’t have to wait for a special occasion. We’re building something built to last, one season at a time.
